Live Music Now was founded by Yehudi Menuhin over 30 years ago, and the organisation continues to work to fulfil his vision today under the leadership of its founding Chairman, Ian Stoutzker.
Live Music Now sets out to fulfil two aims:
• To make high quality music as widely accessible as possible
• To provide training and employment opportunities for the most gifted, young musicians at the outset of their careers
Since 1977 the organisation has grown, from one London office to 9 branches covering the whole of the UK and Ireland.
Since the inception of the Welsh branch in 1990 Live Music Now Wales has maintained a high quality of delivery to audiences in all parts of the country, attracting some of the best young professional musicians to deliver the scheme’s concerts and workshops. Since 1990 over 5,000 LMN performances have taken place in Wales.
LMN musicians have delivered performances and workshops throughout Wales in venues which include care homes and centres for elderly people, hospitals and hospices, schools for children with special educational needs and mainstream schools, centres for people with learning difficulties or mental health problems.
