Terms of Reference
The terms of reference for the Remuneration Committee are reviewed and approved by Council on an annual basis. This document was reviewed and approved by Council in February 2011.
Role of the Committee
- To monitor the Arts Council of Wales remuneration system alongside appropriate benchmark organisations, so as to be able to attract, retain and motivate suitably qualified staff in a competitive market, subject to the appropriate agreement by the Welsh Government, and within the context of available resources.
- To recommend to Council annual performance targets for the Chief Executive and to recommend subsequent remuneration awards, subject to the limits set by and the agreement of the Welsh Government.
- Consider relevant appeals as contained in the Grievance, Disciplinary and Harassment policies
- To agree the levels of remuneration for the Chair and, if appropriate in the future, members of the Council, within the limits determined by Welsh Government, subject to prior submission to the Charity Commission for approval under the terms of the Arts Council’s Royal Charter.
