The Head of Business Development is a key role within the Arts Council of Wales. The postholder will co-ordinate and provide high quality advice and services that will help our major arts organisations to develop their business and organisational capability.
An important part of this is the monitoring and analysis of arts organisations’ performance, diagnosing the business challenges that they face and offering practical solutions that help them to meet those challenges.
Another major area of this developmental activity is the provision of monitoring, support and technical expertise to underpin effective management of our Lottery Capital programme and the delivery of capital projects.
We are looking for an individual who has an enthusiasm for the arts, sound business skills and the creativity to find imaginative solutions to organisational challenges. Significant financial and business literacy is essential, along with the ability to assess, diagnose and address financial, managerial and operational issues.
A sound knowledge of financial management, business planning and marketing, and a familiarity of the legislative framework affecting organisations and their business practices are also key requirements for this role.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of initiating, developing and implementing policy/procedures, governance and risk management. They will also have a working knowledge of the processes and skills needed to successfully manage capital projects.
