Nick Capaldi
The Arts Council of Wales (ACW) is delighted to announce today, (Friday), that Nick Capaldi will be its new Chief Executive.
Nick Capaldi is currently Executive Director of Arts Council England, South West, and has a background in the arts stretching back over 30 years.
Dai Smith, Chair of ACW, said:
"ACW is extraordinarily pleased to have secured the services of such an outstanding individual as Nick Capaldi. His track record and his reputation in the arts world are second to none. Nick will join us in September and we anticipate that his aspirational leadership will take the arts in Wales to where the Council and the Welsh Assembly Government believe they should be: distinctive, rooted and internationally renowned."
Nick Capaldi stated:
"I couldn't be more delighted to be joining the Arts Council of Wales at this exciting time. The Council has ambitious plans to champion the quality of creative activity in Wales, and to help bring the best of the arts within reach of as many people as possible. It's an ambition I wholeheartedly support, and I'm looking forward to working with ACW and its staff to achieve these goals."
