What is the work of the Arts Council of Wales Research Unit?
The Arts Council of Wales Research Unit is part of the Planning & Development Team. The Research Unit are responsible for commissioning ad hoc research and conducting a number of continuous surveys, the largest and most complex being the annual monitoring of activity by the revenue funded organisations (RFOs).
The overall aim of the research unit is to develop and implement a programme of research that provides:
- a sound evidence base to support the Council's strategic policy development
- information for use in advocating the value of the arts in Wales
- information that assists arts organisations in developing strategic plans.
As a rule the Council publishes reports of all research work on the website. However we also hold a variety of data and reference materials. If you cannot find the information you are looking for then please e-mail the research team who may be able to help.
